OUR DESIGN ETHOS

At Ōla Gardenscapes, we believe every living creature is our relative. That's why we practice low impact landscape design. We're here to help you bring the comfort of indoor living outdoors, all while respecting the creatures great and small that live in our urban outdoor spaces.

At Ōla, we believe every living creature is our relative.

From the largest mammals to the smallest seeds, we are family. That's why at Ōla we practice low impact gardenscape design.

What is a gardenscape anyway? We define it as a landscape designed in equal partnership with nature, and the end result is a space that reminds humans that we are part of nature, too.

We're here to help you achieve this balance: bring the comfort of indoor living outdoors, all while respecting the creatures great and small that live in our urban outdoor spaces.

Some of our guiding principles include:

- What impact the design will have on the creatures that live in our urban outdoor spaces

- The materials and plants we use in our designs must have a benefit to nature

- We rely on natural materials that have not been treated with chemicals, and we avoid cement and plastic if possible

As we all do the work necessary to preserve our planet and all of its inhabitants, we can achieve comfortable outdoor spaces, reduce our impact on the planet and restore habitats and ecosystems in our front and back yards.
